Emojis had a major year in 2015, popping up everywhere from social media posts to to email subject lines. Instagram even introduced them as searchable hashtags. One of the more creative uses of the year was in Domino’s pizza delivery by emoji. Through their campaign, Domino’s allowed customers to order a pizza by simply tweeting a slice of pizza emoji. Customers just needed to register their Twitter handle on their Domino’s Pizza Profile. Once registered, customers could simply tweet the pizza emoji to @Dominos to place an order. The campaign was a big hit amongst consumers and the company landed itself in the spotlight for its innovative use of emojis.
The Last Selfie World Wildlife Fund
The World Wildlife Fund won a 2015 Webby Award for their powerful Snapchat campaign this year. The WWF used Snapchat to disseminate photos of endangered species to highlight their potential disappearance. The campaign not only connected with their target audience of millennials but the campaign pulled at the heartstrings of people and increased donations.
TOMS Without Shoes Campaign
TOMS Shoes is a company that giving has always been a center of its mission. Launching with the concept of giving a pair of shoes to needy children with every purchase of shoes, the popular company amplified their commitment on social media this year. The company took their giving spirit one step further this year with their #withoutshoes campaign that encouraged users to share a photo of their bare feet on Instagram with the designated hashtag. For each photo posted, the company committed to donating a pair of shoes to someone in need. The campaign was a huge success that drove almost 300,000 user-generated photos and a matching donation.
Taco Bell Valentine’s Day Snapchat Stories
Taco Bell has paved the road for other brands when it comes to Snapchat marketing and their Valentine’s Day campaign was a total hit for those on social media. The brand created catchy digital valentines through their snap stories that followers could customize and share with their friends for the holiday. HPs Bend the Rules
HP got creative on Vine with their #Bendtherules campaign. To highlight the brand’s x360 convertible laptop that can double as a tablet, the brand partnered with a number of influencers on the platform Vine.
